Wayne County Choral Union Board

replica hublot watches When the Wayne County Choral Union Board met Jan. 25, the main points of discussion were the program for the May 7 concert, the organization of the board and sources of revenue.

The program will take place at Saint Mary Church in a "cabaret" setting. It will begin with Haydn's "Te Deum" and other sacred pieces. After an intermission the full chorus will sing "Razzle, Dazzle" and "There's No Business Like Show Business." The men will do three pieces and two smaller groups will perform pieces from the 1940s and '50s. The chorus will sing a Cohan medley and two other patriotic numbers.

The board heard a call for a more tightly organized committee structure and for clearer definition of responsibilities within the board. It also discussed ways of increasing income for the WCCU, including writing grants, seeking patrons and selling ads for the concert programs.

NAIFA

When Wayne-Holmes NAIFA met Jan. 8 at TJ's Restaurant in Wooster, David Thomas of J.L. Thomas Company in Cleveland presented a program on "Life Insurance for the Death Benefit, A Novel Idea."

Congratulations were given to members who qualified for Million Dollar Round Table: Dave Briggs, Ron Fike, Barry Hummel, Tim Ramsier and Lynn Reed. Members at the meeting went to the library for a group photo.

The next NAIFA meeting will be March 12 at TJ's at 11:30 a.m. Paul Sims III of Advance Leadership will present the program on "The Keys to Success in Selling ... Daily Activity." Bobbie Randall, a nutritionist at Dunlap Community Hospital, talked to Orrville Exchange Club Jan. 28 about celiac disease.

Jackie Doyle, administrator of Brenn-Field Nursing Center, and Hank Reifsnyder with the Hummel Group, were introduced as guests and prospective members.

Members are invited to the Wayne County Children Services breakfast April 29 at 7 a.m. in the Shisler Center at the OARDC.

Silver TrowelGarden Club

When Silver Trowel Garden Club met for its January meeting at the Orrville Public Library, Leslie Picot, an avid gardener herself, presented replica breitling watches a program titled "Gardening by the Book." She gave a list of favorite gardening Web sites.

Co-hostesses for the meeting were Jan Stevic and JoAnna Stevic. Guests attending were Diane Shanklin and Sue Steingass. The Feb. 23 meeting will feature "Celebration Tablescapes," hosted by Jackie Panyard. Co-hostesses will be Jarra Underwood and Carolyn Roadruck.
